In this work, a computor-aided simulation was made for the separation of 99.9 w% fuel-grade dimethylether(DME)
applicable as one of diesel substitutes. The unit is to
separate DME from the reaction mixture and consists of
DME absorber, CO2 stripper, DME product column and a
solvent recovery column. DME is absorbed in the methanol
used as an absorbant, CO2 is stipped off from the
methanol, 50 kg/d of 99.5 w% DME is splitted from the
product column and methanol is recovered and recycled
from the solvent recovery column.

For the simulation NRTL model was used, which is one of
models that employ activity parameters in liquid phases
and Henry£§s law was introduced assitantly to make allowance
for the dissolution of gaseous components in
water and methanol. Aspen Plus 12.1 were utilized for
all the simulation.
