   In the two-column rectification process, distill off gases and low-boiling impurities dissolved in the crude methanol from the pre-distillation column and then distill off qualified methanol products from the main distillation column.
   In the three-column rectification process, divided the main distillation column into two columns conduct pressurized operation in the first column and normal-pressure operation in the second column. Use latent heat of vapor-phase condensation at the first column top as the heat source of reboiler at the atmospheric distillation column bottom, so as to make the atmospheric distillation column require no outsourced heat source and reduce energy consumption.
   In general, the two-column rectification process is featured in lower investment but highrt energy consumption while three-column rectification process is featured in higher investment but lower energy consumption; in particular, while using steam as the rectification heat source, the energy-saving effect of the three-column rectification process is quite obvious (about 0.4-0.6t low-pressure steam can be saved per ton of methanol).
